Compliance Program

Compliance programs are critical to meeting your regulatory obligations, but also ensuring a positive and rememerable patient experience. Too often, practices get a plan (if they have one at all) and let it collect dust until someone comes in to request it.

Everyone in your practice and amongst your work force should know that there are seven elements to an effective compliance plan. Each is critical to ensuring that your practice is operating in a manner to meet, and exceed, your regulatory obligations.

  1. Implementing written policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  2. Designating a compliance officer and compliance committee.
  3. Conducting effective training and education.
  4. Developing effective lines of communication.
  5. Conducting internal monitoring and auditing.
  6. Enforcing standards through well-publicized disciplinary guidelines.
  7. Responding promptly to detected offenses and undertaking corrective action.
